I know right, it’s a tonne of videos but there’s no need to get overwhelmed, just complete the original CRDJS and then pick your preferred genre for the advanced section - that will be enough at first and this aline will have you playing at a standard good enough to play in clubs - trust me you’ll surprise yourself. Then if you reach a plateau, or are feeling confident and ready for more, move into the Performance Plus section and when you feel ready to get some live experience the Club Pack is an absolute must.

I put together this school, for a number of reasons:

1. When attending DJ schools in the past, and even checking online courses, I was left knowing little more than when I started. I also found many online courses play if very very safe and only teach you the very basics. This inspired me to put together this course based on years of teaching experience.
2. I have made a living as a DJ for over 15 years and have played all kinds of parties, with extensive experience with most genres. I have run at least a dozen successful club events all around Australia, have played at countless festivals, including main stage sets at ANZ stadium. I know what it takes to crack the club scene and will share with you priceless information on how to: be a great DJ, get shows, approach venues, and will give you the tools to  build unstoppable momentum.
3. Even though they say being a DJ is a competitive field, the quality of DJs out there is questionable and with the right guidance and an organised approach I am helping people to uncover their talent as a DJ, so they too can experience the joys of controlling energy and creating peak states at events.
4. It’s about time a school followed up on their students and not only teach them how to DJ, but also give their students the opportunity to perform live and gain valuable experience and contacts.

Being a DJ is amazing, even if it’s just playing your favorite tracks at home, to playing packed events and everything in between. If you love music, being a DJ is the perfect creative outlet. I am grateful that I am in the position where I can share my greatest passion with so many people.

If you don’t have DJ equipment yet, don’t wait to buy the course. Trust me, there is plenty you can do without gear and the more prepared you are before hitting the decks, the quicker it will all come together. The most common mistake people make is waiting for their DJ gear to arrive and then when they get their gear they start to play and get discouraged as they have no idea what they are doing or they are developing bad habits. I honesty suggest, and I am not just saying this, start the course now as there is loads you can do on your computer before hitting the decks and then when you do get equipment you will be surprised how fast you pick it up.

It doesn’t matter what equipment you have as all DJ equipment and DJ software shares the same basic operations needed to DJ - you will learn that very quickly. In the very first section I break down all the basic operations needed to DJ that you will find on all DJ gear and I even have comparison videos just to show you how similar all gear and software is.

It really doesn’t matter what gear you have all you need is a desire to learn. I will take you from bedroom to clubs even if you have something very very basic. I like comparing learning to DJ to learning to drive. All cars pretty much do the same thing, so if you learn on a mustang there’s no reason why you won’t be able to apply what you know and drive any other brand of car. Sure some of the more expensive cars / DJ gear feel nicer and sound better but I know a tonne of people that have started on sub average gear that are now outshining every other DJ on every line up they play.

When doing one on ones in Sydney the first question I ask my students is “what genre do they wish to learn on” and their answers always fall into 3 main categories.

1. Deeper Kinds of House (suitable for people into): Tech House, Deep House, Techno, Minimal Tech, Progressive House and Nu Disco)
2. Heavier Styles of Dance (suitable for people into): EDM, Big Room, Electro House, Bounce, Hardstyle, Drum and Bass, Trap and Dubstep)
3. Vocal Driven Music (suitable for people into): Hip Hip, RNB, Pop, Rock / any genre where there is singing the whole way through

For this reason after we have nailed the foundations (with exercises featuring all of the above), I have advanced courses for each of the above genres. This means it doesn’t matter what genre you're into, I have you covered. For instance there are different ways to mix the main genres and I will teach you all those ways so by the courses end you’ll be able to play any genre on any gear - if you choose. You can opt to only focus on your preferred genre if you have no interest in pop, and vice versa. That’s where, if I do say so myself, I go above and beyond, as I have made genre specific exercises that will get you where you need to be using the music you love or gravitate towards.
